The Botany Department of M.G. Science Institute organized an educational visit to the Ahmedabad Flower Show 2026 for the students of Semester II, IV and VI Botany (Major) on 9th January 2026 in the morning session under the guidance of Dr. Zankhna Rathod and Ms. Dhruvi Gamit. The visit aimed to enhance students’ practical knowledge of floriculture, ornamental plants, and plant diversity. The flower show displayed a wide variety of seasonal and ornamental flowering plants, including roses, orchids, marigolds, petunias, chrysanthemums, lilies, bonsai plants, and several exotic species. Students also observed themed gardens, floral sculptures, vertical gardening techniques, and eco-friendly landscaping practices. Informative boards provided details such as scientific names, plant families, and horticultural importance, which helped students correlate theoretical concepts with real-world examples. Faculty members explained important botanical characteristics and addressed students’ queries throughout the visit. Overall, the educational visit proved to be highly informative and enriching, broadening students’ understanding of floriculture, plant conservation, and biodiversity, and it was a successful learning experience for all participants.
