1. Introduction :

On August 1st, 2025, the Department of Data Science and Analytics at MG Science Institute organized an App Development Competition to promote innovation and practical application of mobile application development skills among students. The event was designed to challenge participants to build functional, creative, and user-friendly apps within a limited timeframe.

2. Competition Structure:

  • The competition was conducted in the DSA Lab over a duration of two and a half hours. Participants were provided with the basic requirements and themes at the start of the event and were expected to plan, develop, and present a working prototype of an Android app.

   

          Key criteria for evaluation included:

  • User Interface Design
  • App Functionality and Innovation
  • Code Structure and Efficiency
  • Relevance to the Theme
  • Presentation & Explanation

          Students worked individually in teams and were encouraged to use Android Studio with Kotlin, along with external libraries if needed.

3. Winners Announcement:

At the end of the competition, winning teams were announced based on creativity, execution, and presentation.

Winning Teams were Awarded with Certificate of Appreciation

4. Conclusion:

The App Development Competition was a highly successful event that ignited a spirit of creativity, coding excellence, and teamwork among the participants. It provided a platform to apply theoretical knowledge into real-world solutions, enhancing both technical and soft skills.
