Title: Educational Visit to Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC) followed by
Tirupati Rushivan
Date of Visit: 23/12/2025
Organized by: Department of Microbiology, M. G. Science Institute
Participants: Students of Semester IV
An educational visit was organized by our college to the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre
(GBRC), Gandhinagar, followed by a recreational visit to Tirupati Rushivan. The primary objective of
this visit was to provide students with exposure to a professional research environment and to
encourage learning through real-life observation. Such educational trips play an important role in
enhancing students’ academic understanding and overall development.
Visit to Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC)
GBRC is a well-known research institute actively involved in advanced research in the fields of
biotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, and genomics. During the visit, students were taken
through different sections of the institute, including research laboratories and instrumentation
facilities.
Scientists and technical staff explained the working principles of various sophisticated instruments
used in research laboratories. Students were informed about techniques such as microbial culture
handling, molecular techniques, quality control procedures, and biosafety measures followed in the
laboratory. The experts also discussed ongoing research projects and highlighted the role of
biotechnology in healthcare, agriculture, and environmental applications. This visit helped students
understand how theoretical concepts learned in classrooms are applied practically in research
institutions.
Visit to Tirupati Rushivan
After completing the academic visit to GBRC, students visited Tirupati Rushivan for recreation and
adventure activities. This part of the trip was organized mainly for relaxation and enjoyment. Students
actively participated in various adventure and fun-based activities, which helped them relieve
academic stress.
The visit encouraged interaction among students and promoted team spirit, cooperation, and bonding.
It provided a refreshing break and contributed positively to students’ mental well-being, making the
overall trip enjoyable and memorable.
