The IQAC Cell of M. G. Science Institute (Autonomous), Ahmedabad, organized an interactive session titled “Smart Money Moves” on 10 March 2026 at Theatre 5. The session aimed to introduce students to the fundamentals of financial planning and responsible money management, emphasizing the importance of developing financial awareness at an early stage.
The session was conducted by Dr. Shriram Nerlekar, Director, Ahmedabad Education Society, who shared valuable insights on practical financial habits, decision-making, and the significance of managing personal finances wisely. Drawing from his experience in the field of education and leadership, Dr. Nerlekar highlighted how financial literacy plays an important role in shaping responsible and independent individuals.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Jatin Parikh, Officiating Principal of M. G. Science Institute, who emphasized the importance of financial awareness among students and appreciated the initiative taken by the IQAC Cell in organizing such meaningful sessions for student development.
During the session, Dr. Nerlekar discussed key aspects of financial planning, including budgeting, saving, and developing disciplined financial habits. He encouraged students to begin thinking about financial responsibility early in life and to make informed financial decisions that can contribute to their long-term stability and growth.
The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer interaction, where students actively participated and sought practical guidance on managing finances in their daily lives.
