Orientation program & World Entrepreneurs’ Day Celebration

MG Science Institute, August 21, 2025

The MG Science Institute celebrated World Entrepreneurs’ Day on August 21, 2025. The event was organized with a dual objective: to serve as an “Orientation program” for the Innovation Club new members and to commemorate the “World Entrepreneurs’ Day” dedicated to entrepreneurs and their contributions to society.

The program commenced with a formal welcome and introduction by Dr. Rina Shah, committee member of the Innovation Club. This was followed by an address from Dr. Kirit Vaniya, coordinator of the Innovation Club, who introduced the vision and objectives of the club. He highlighted previous activities of innovation club and how the club acts as a structured pathway for students to reach opportunities under the Student Start-up and Innovation Policy (SSIP) and explained the various government schemes available to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship.

The highlight of the celebration was the guest talk by Mr. Jessa Kodiator, an entrepreneur, and i-Hub associate. His engaging presentation focused on Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and the Start-up Ecosystem, stressing how entrepreneurship is a problem-solving journey that leverages innovation to meet real-world challenges. He explained innovation parameters—desirability, viability, and feasibility—and illustrated the Design Thinking approach (Empathy → Define → Ideation → Prototype → Test) as a practical framework for aspiring innovators. He also distinguished between startups and traditional businesses and detailed available government and private funding opportunities.

The event saw active participation, with 77 students and 5 faculty members engaging in discussions and an interactive Q&A session.
