On 28th January 2025, the Department of Biotechnology (B.Sc.) at M.G. Science Institute hosted a Poster Presentation Competition under the guidance of Dr. Shivani Raval, Head of Department. The event was organized in the corridor adjacent to the Biotechnology Laboratory from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and marked in honour of the birth anniversary of Robert Holley, the Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine (1968) known for his discovery of the structure of alanine tRNA.

Themed on “Recent Advances in Science and Technology,” the competition saw enthusiastic participation from all students, divided into groups. A total of 17 innovative posters were presented, with topics ranging from Hydroponics Farming, Bioplastics, and Biopolymers to 3D Brain Printing, Metagenomics, and more.

The judging panel included Dr. Avni Diwetia, Assistant Professor – M.Sc. Microbiology, and Dr. Shivani Raval, who evaluated the posters on parameters such as scientific content, creativity, clarity, and presentation. The event was graced by the Principal, Dr. Jwalant Vora, who individually interacted with participants and appreciated their scientific curiosity and dedication.

What made the session even more enriching was the presence of students and faculty from other departments who actively engaged with the presenters, posing questions and offering feedback — turning the corridor into a vibrant space for collaborative learning and cross-disciplinary discussion.

Beyond showcasing scientific knowledge, students learned valuable skills like teamwork, communication, research, and how to handle questions under pressure.
