Report on Dog Bite Awareness Program

“Dog Bite: First Aid and Safety”

An Awareness Program on“Dog Bite: First Aid and Safety” was successfully organized by
the NSS & NCC Units on 13 December 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Theatre–5, Mafatlal Gagalbhai
Science Institute (Autonomous).

The program was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students about dog
bite prevention, immediate first aid measures, and safety precautions, along with the
importance of timely medical treatment to prevent rabies.

The session was addressed by Mr. Nilesh Muliya and Mr. Nilesh Vachani, who shared valuable
insights on:
 Common causes and risks associated with dog bites
 Immediate first aid steps to be taken after a dog bite
 Importance of washing the wound thoroughly with soap and running water
 Need for timely medical consultation and completion of rabies vaccination
 Safety measures to avoid dog bites, especially from stray or unvaccinated animals

The speakers explained the topic in a simple and interactive manner, using practical examples
and visuals, which helped the cadets understand the seriousness of dog bites and the correct
response in emergency situations.

All NCC cadets were present and actively attended the program. The cadets showed keen
interest, participated attentively, and benefited greatly from the awareness session. The program
enhanced their knowledge about public health safety and emergency first aid practices, which
are crucial in daily life as well as during social service activities.

The program concluded with an interactive discussion and vote of thanks. Overall, the awareness
program was highly informative, well-organized, and successful, fulfilling its objective of
educating NCC cadets on dog bite first aid and safety measures.
