# Early Life and Education

Heman Majethiya was born in Bhuj – Kachchh (1971) and raised in Gujarat, India. His fascination with the natural world and geological processes began at an early age.

Majethiya pursued his academic interests in geology, earned:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Geology: From the R.R. Lalan College Bhuj -Kachchh. (1990)
  2. Master's degree in Geology: From the M.G. Science Institute Ahmedabad. (1992)
  3. PhD degree in Geology : From KSKV Kachchh University , Bhuj -Kachchh (2013)

Dr. Heman V.  Majethiya is an Indian geologist and geomorphologist who has made significant contributions to the field of geomorphology, remote sensing and GIS.

Majethiya began his career as a researcher and academician, working on various projects related to geomorphology and geology.

# Research Focus

Majethiya's research focuses on coastal geomorphology, remote sensing and GIS, particularly in the context of Indian geology. His work explores the geological history, landforms, and processes that shape the Indian landscape. Here's a brief overview of his work:

  1. Studies on Indian geomorphology: Majethiya has published several papers on the geomorphology of various regions in India.
  2. Geomorphological mapping: He has developed geomorphological maps of different regions in India, which help in understanding the geological evolution and landform development.
  3. Tectonic geomorphology: Majethiya's research also explores the relationship between tectonic processes and landform development in India.
  4. Geomorphological Studies in Western India: This work explores the geomorphology of western India, covering topics such as landform evolution, tectonic processes, and environmental changes.
  5. Geological Evolution of Kachchh: Majethiya's research on the geological evolution of Kachchh, a region in western India, provides insights into the area's complex geological history.
  6. Environmental Geomorphology: This work focuses on the application of geomorphological principles to environmental management, covering topics such as land degradation, soil erosion, and water resource management.
