Dr. Jatin H. Parikh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at M.G. Science Institute (Autonomous), Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. With over 33 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level and 26 years at the postgraduate level.

he is a distinguished academician specializing in organic chemistry. His primary areas of expertise include organic synthesis, biodegradation of synthetic dyes, wastewater and water treatment technologies, and environmental chemistry with a focus on industrial effluent management.

Dr. Parikh earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Gujarat, India, in 2006. He holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry from Gujarat University (1991) and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Bhavan's Sheth R.A. College of Science, Gujarat University (1989). His research contributions span various domains, including the development of innovative water treatment methodologies and the study of fungal cultures for the biodegradation of textile dyes. Notably, he has successfully led and completed three UGC- funded research projects, focusing on water treatment and the biodegradation of synthetic dyes.

His scholarly work includes national publications on topics such as fluoride ion removal, cyanide detoxification, and organic waste destruction.

Dr. Parikh is deeply committed to advancing chemical education and fostering scientific inquiry. His professional engagements include guest lectures and visiting faculty roles at various institutes. His dedication to interdisciplinary research, environmental sustainability, and academic leadership continues to shape the next generation of chemists.
