Sunita Jha is a faculty member of Biochemistry department with a teaching experience of 32 years. As one of the founder members of the team she was actively involved in setting up the Biochemistry department, which transformed to be a much sotted subject for the students. Her teaching expertise includes Recombinant DNA technology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Medical Biotechnology.

 Her IIT experience was valuable to set up the Biotechnology vocational course at the institute in 1996 which was as one of its kind in Gujarat University. The course was comprehensive and proved to be valuable to students going for higher studies, research, entrepreneurship and jobs in pharma companies. Prior to joining MG Science Institute, Sunita worked with Biocon India at Bangalore and CERC research lab at Ahmedabad. Her work helped indirectly to frame and shape the upcoming new department.

She was nominated as the first convener of CWDC of the institute in 2005 and was involved till last year (2024) in spreading awareness, supporting and managing issues concerned with the girl students. She is the convenor of the personality contest which is a part of the cultural festival of the college.

She was invited by DA-IICT regularly each year to speak to students on the importance of Biotechnology for computer Engineers/Scientists.
