The Statistics Department, established in 1958, is one of the oldest departments in science colleges across Gujarat. The statistics department offers a Bachelor of Science in Statistics. The department provides training and exposure in computer education by introducing the latest state-of-the-art programming languages and software, enabling students to perform statistical data analysis effectively. The department received financial assistance under the DBT STAR college grant (2009-10). The department has also organized a two-day UGC Sponsored National Seminar on “Impact of Statistics on Science and Society” during 25-26 February 2010. The department has organized multiple workshops on SPSS, inviting industry experts to benefit students.
